Learning ActivitIES

ASynchronous Activities for Week of September 14

Learning Activity options have been developed for asynchronous assignments. You may choose to use these options and/or develop your own, based on the needs of your class. Selections should be cut and pasted onto your Weekly page prior to publishing.

This week, you will sort by sound, count in order, and use your senses to describe things in your house. Pick a different activity to do every day.

  • Letter Hunt: Find items in your house that start with the letters B and D. Sort them into piles: things that start with /b/ like balloon and things that start with /d/ like dog. Mix up your collection and sort them again. Can you find things that start with H like horse? Now sort into B, D, and H piles.
  • My Five Senses: Become a scientist at home. Walk through your home and name things you can see, smell, touch, taste, and hear. Talk about what body part you use for each sense. Do you ever use more than one sense? Share your findings with a family member or draw and label pictures.
  • Creative Illustrator: It is time to illustrate your Bingo Links to an external site. poem. Below the words of the poem, use crayons, pencils, markers, watercolor, or other materials to show details from the poem. Don’t forget to show the farmer and the dog. Maybe you can add a picture of a farm! Keep your poem to read again and again.
  • Order! Order!: Cut out our your number cards Links to an external site.. Mix up the cards and place them on one side of the room. Stand on the other side of the room. Race to put the numbers in order from 0-5. Try it again. Can you put the cards in order 0-10
  • From Farm to Table: While having a snack, lunch, or dinner, discuss with your family some healthy foods you eat that come from a farm. What might grow on a tree, in the ground, or on a vine?
