Curriculum Supports for Diverse Learners
Optional Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports below are intended to enhance the Connect4Learning (C4L) curriculum and the Maryland Early Learning Standards (MELS), based on student data.
CORE WORDS
The following resources are intended to enhance C4L read alouds that can support all learners, especially those that use communication tools/devices or multimodal communication learners. The focus core words are not intended to replace the books’ text or deny access to the full story, but instead provide scaffolding and means for all learners to interact during read alouds. The language and words selected model the pathways used on a Word Power 60 (and ChatEditor) device. If other tools are used, pathways and images may vary.
