Grade 3 - Lesson 5 Activities: 5.25 - 5.29

Song of the Day

Travel back to 1908 with me as we listen to the original recording of the song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". This song was written over 100 years ago and is typically sung during the 7th inning stretch during baseball games throughout the USA. Right now the baseball season is on hold, but let's listen to the song and think about anytime you've been to a baseball game. If you haven't been, the video will show you what it's like. You will probably recognize the chorus of the song but it begins with a verse where two people are trying to figure out what to do with their day.

After watching the video, share what you thought with someone or use this discussion thread to share what you thought with the class.  Remember some of reasons we have talked about for why you may or may not like a song:

- the lyrics                      - the beat

- the instruments used                   - the way the song makes you feel
