Overview

Today I will learn how to follow directions to reach a destination using directional words like right, left, forward, and backwards. 

Motivation

STEP 1.

  Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin the This is the way! Learn Directions with Bip Links to an external site. video. As you view this video, think about the paths/roads you take to get to school or home everyday.

  Directions: Today we are going to help Bee-Bot navigate his online neighborhood using some DIRECTIONS.  Let's review the word Directions together using the Directions Vocabulary Card Links to an external site. below.

 

 

Activity: Navigating Bee-Bot's Neighborhood

Select the tab below for the appropriate coding activity for your class.

Directions: Today, you will be following directions to see which directions Bee-Bot will need to choose in order to get to his friend Scratch Cat.  Make sure you follow the directions very carefully.

  • First choose the correct algorithm for Bee-Bot to meet Scratch Cat at his house.
  • Then choose the correct algorithm for Bee-Bot to meet Scratch Cat at the Treehouse.

Directions: You will be following directions to see which directions Bee-Bot will need to choose in order to get to his friend, Scratch Cat. Make sure you follow the directions very carefully!

  2. Next Page button in Canvas 2. Select the Next button to complete your project.
  3. Scroll down icon3. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
