Grade 1 Computational Thinker ALGORITHMS WITH BEE-BOT

DAY 1

Overview

Today I will learn how to program Bee-Bot using code.

Motivation

STEP 1.

Directions: Select the play button to begin BBC Learning - What Is An Algorithm Links to an external site.. As you view this video, think about what you already know about algorithms and how you have used algorithms in the past.

STEP 2.

Directions: Follow along with your teacher to brainstorm examples of things that must follow an algorithm in order to work correctly.  Your teacher will create a place to collect your ideas so that you can refer back to them.

What might happen if you did some of the things you brainstormed in the wrong order?

STEP 3.

Directions: Together with your teacher you just learned that a cycle is an algorithm that repeat over and over again.  Below are some examples of various "cycles" that you may be familiar with.
