Overview

Today I will learn how to make a path with the Bee-Bot Emulator

Motivation

STEP 1.

  Directions: Select the play button to begin Let's Meet Bee-Bot Links to an external site.. As you view this video, think about how the emulator is similar to the Bee-Bot and mats you have used so far this year.

Lesson

STEP 2.

Now it's your turn to practice moving Bee-Bot on the Shape Mat and in the Emulator.

Directions: Follow your teacher's directions so you know whether you will start with the Emulator tab or with the Bee-Bot tab.

Directions: Follow the directions below to move the Bee-Bot to 2 different shapes on the mat using the Emulator.  

  • Select the link to go to the Bee-Bot Emulator Links to an external site. website.
  • Next to Select your Mat in the top left, select the Shapes Colors, and Size Mat.
    • Bee-Bot Emulator website - Select your Mat drop down with Shapes, Colors, and Size mat selected.
  • Use the command arrows to move Bee-Bot to 2 different shapes on the mat.  You can choose to move to:
    • 2 shapes that are the same color
    • 2 shapes that are the same size
    • or 2 shapes that are different

  • Remember you may have to use the clear code and home command. 

 

Directions: Working with your partner move the Bee-Bot robot to 2 different shapes on the mat.  

  • Place one shape in each square on your mat until every square has a shape.
  • Use the arrow cards to make a plan to move Bee-Bot to 2 different shapes on the mat.  You can choose to move to:
    • 2 shapes that are the same color
    • 2 shapes that are the same size
    • or 2 shapes that are different
  • Use the commands on the back of your Bee-Bot to run the code and see if you were able to move Bee-Bot correctly.
  • Remember you may have to use the clear code and home command.
