Grade 1 Technology Computational Thinker Unit
Cornerstone Task
Overview
During the third quarter, first graders have engaged in a Computational Thinker unit where they have learned the basics of coding using Scratch Jr. They have learned about coding blocks such as motion and repeat (or loops) as well as learning basic debugging skills using a block-based coding language called Blockly. This unit culminates in a Cornerstone task where students will have to apply these skills to complete a task. Their task is to create a code in Scratch Jr. where two characters perform a dance.
