Overview

Today I will learn how to add an image and modify the size of an image to an existing organizer in Wixie. 

Motivation

STEP 1.

  Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin the video, Museum! Dinosaurs, Rockets, Mummies and More. Links to an external site. As you view this video, think about other things you may see at a museum.

What new things have you learned about that you can find in museums? What would be your favorite thing to see at a museum? Let's add your ideas to the chart paper that we started last week.

 

Lesson

STEP 2.

  Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin the video, Dinosaur Exhibit: Virtual Field Trip Links to an external site.. As you view this video, think about how the artists at the museum use art to teach more about dinosaurs.

STEP 3.

  Directions: Today we are going to use Wixie to add stickers to a project to complete a pattern. We will also learn how to change the size of a sticker. Follow along with your teacher as they demonstrate using the Wixie assignment, Adding and Resizing Stickers Teacher Demonstration Links to an external site..

  • Make sure the dinosaur sticker is selected.Icon for Select (click)
  • Image for make it larger and smaller in wixieSelect the Make the Selection Larger or Smaller buttons to change it's size.  Remember you want it to fit in one of the picture frames.
  • Icon for Select (click) and DragSelect and Drag your dinosaur to the picture frame.

Now, let's practice adding and resizing more images in our museum in our own Wixie.

Activity: Making A Dinosaur Exhibit

STEP 4.

Directions: Now it's your turn to create a dinosaur exhibit in Wixie.  On the first page of the project make the dinosaur pictures bigger or smaller to fit the picture frames.  Then go to the next page and complete the dinosaur patterns by adding the correct dinosaur image and making it bigger or smaller to fit in the box. Remember to click on the Museum Cat to listen to directions if you forget what to do.
