Assignment Overview

You have chosen to write your email in Google Slides. Your email will be about being a good digital citizen. This email needs to help your teacher understand how to be a good digital citizen.

Write Your Email

Directions: You are ready to work on writing your email in Google Slides.  The project template and directions can be found below.  Let your teacher know if you have any questions or need any help getting started.

    • Write your email to your teacher in the template. You may copy and paste your facts from your Research Organizer. Be sure the email sounds like a friendly letter and not just a list of facts.
    • Be sure to include a proper greeting and closing.
    • Reread your email before submitting it to your teacher in Canvas.

Submit Assignment

Complete and Submit Google Assignment:

  1. The Google Workspace Template that your teacher has created will load directly in the Canvas Assignment when you open it.
  2. Review the Google Account listed.  If it is your HCPSS Google account, select the blue "Link" button.  Blue Link button in Google AssignmentIf it is not, select the white "Switch Account" button and select your HCPSS Google Account.White Switch Account button
  3. Another window will open requesting your approval to link your HCPSS Google Account to the Canvas Google Assignment.  
  4. Select the blue "Link" button. Blue Link button in Google Assignment You will only have to link your account once per assignment.
  5. Select the document that includes your first and last name in the file name under Your Files. Image of Your Files attached to a Google Assignment
  6. Your copy of the assignment template will load in a new tab.Image of Chrome tabs for Google Assignment
  7. Complete the assignment.  You can come back and work on this assignment at any time.   You can also access the assignment directly in your Google Drive once you have began working.
  8. When you are finished your work, in the Canvas Assignment window, select the blue "Open to attach and submit" button. Blue Open and attach to submit button in Canvas
  9. Select the blue "Submit" button to turn in your work.  Blue Submit button in Google Assignment
  10. Select "Submit" to confirm your submission. White Submit button in Google Assignment
  11. You will receive a confirmation that your assignment is submitted and ready for your instructor to review. Image of Google Assignment submission completion
