Grade 3 Digital Citizen CORNERSTONE TASK

Day 1

Overview

Today I will research a country and take on the role of an online travel brochure designer.  I will use what I know about digital citizenship to present information about a country while preserving my digital footprint.

Motivation

This summer you and your family will travel to another country and live there so you can take on the role of an online travel brochure designer.  You get to pick the country.  What does a country need to have to make you want to live there?  Let's make a list.

STEP 1.

Directions: In order to help you select the country that you want to move to with your family, let's brainstorm some ideas Links to an external site. together. What does a country need to have to make you want to live there?

Teacher Directions: Make a copy of the DC Cornerstone Brainstorm List Links to an external site. and add your own copy below using the Google Drive Integration.

 

 

Lesson

STEP 2.

  Directions: Follow along with your teacher using the Cornerstone Lesson Presentation Links to an external site. to decide on the country that you are going to move to. You will also review some Digital Citizen Practices that you will follow as you complete the Cornerstone Task.

NOTE: Make a copy of the Gr 3 Cornerstone Lesson Presentation Links to an external site. so that you can use the interactive Pear Deck elements for student engagement.  Consider adding a Student Paced copy of the presentation below for students who missed the lesson or are absent.

 

 

STEP 3.

   Directions: Below are the two choices that you have for your Cornerstone Project.  You can select to create a Postcard using Wixie or a Brochure using Google Slides. Review the description of each project below and select which one you want to create

Wixie Postcard

Write a letter to a person of your choice.  Tell them all about the country you are visiting this summer.

Google Travel Brochure

Create a travel brochure to inform others about the country that you are visiting and why you chose to go there.
