Overview
Today I will learn how communicating with others online can improve our productivity.
Motivation
STEP 1.
Directions: Think about the following questions:
- How can we use technology to make communication with others better?
- How has technology improved communication?
Now that you have thought about these questions, turn to a partner and share your ideas with each other. Be prepared to share what you discussed with the class.

Directions: People and businesses communicate online in lots of ways. Can you think of some ways that you or your favorite store communicates online? Discuss your ideas with a partner. Now think about how you find information online. Discuss the following questions with a partner:
- What movie should I see?
- What book should I read?
- Where can I buy the latest video game for the best price?
- Where can I get details about the events going on at my school?
STEP 4.
Directions: Today we are going to take a look at a webpage together and discuss the way that this webpage is used to communicate online.

Step 5.
Directions: Today we have talked about how online communication can improve productivity. Now it's your turn. Soon our school will be having {insert event name} for our school community. It is your job to create an advertisement to communicate the information effectively with your school community this event. Some of your advertisements will be printed to hang in our school and some may be posted on our school website, newsletter, or social media. You will be able to create your advertisement using one of the following tools.
