Overview

Today I will learn how to take a picture using Wixie.

Motivation

STEP 1.

  Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin the This is a Happy Face Links to an external site. video. As you view this video, think about what emotion you are feeling today. Be prepared to share your emotion with your class.

Lesson

STEP 2.

  Directions: Today you will learn how to take pictures using the camera in Wixie. With your teacher, you will learn more about your classmates as you practice taking pictures together. Follow along with your teacher as they demonstrate using the Wixie Assignment, Taking Pictures Teacher Demonstration Links to an external site.

  • Image of eyesLook for a person in the room who matches that topic.
  • Select the Image Image of image icon for wixie. icon.
  • Select the Camera tab Icon for Camera in Wixie to open the camera.
  • pose for a picture icon Pose for the Camera.
  • Select Add icon for Add  to take a picture and add it to your project. HINT: You may want a friend to select the camera icon for you.
  • Select and drag icon for click and drag your photo to the correct picture frame.

Now, let's practice taking pictures at your seat in our own Wixie.

Activity: Capturing Our Emotions 

STEP 3.

Directions: Now it's your turn to to take your own pictures. For each picture frame you will take a photo of yourself showing the emotion for each of the yellow faces. Follow the steps to take a picture for each emotion, happy, sad, mad and confused. If you can't remember what to do, click on the picture of the the smiley face with the gray eyes on the bottom center of the page.
