Reading Informative Texts
Considerations
- This cornerstone task integrates content from Social Studies Unit 3: Colonial Life unit. However, any previous taught curriculum that includes content worthy of research could be substituted. Make sure the prerequisite lesson included a topic to be researched and application of the skills of citing, paraphrasing and quoting.
- Students can create a podcast using alternative software options that provide opportunities for students to record audio. (ex. WeVideo)
- Consider collaborating with the social studies teacher and allowing students time to complete their script during social studies or english/language arts.
ResourceS
More information regarding the use of each of the resources can be located in the Cornerstone Task lesson plan.
Access Points to Consider
- Modify the organizer to meet the needs of your students.
- Review how to access the previous modules.
- Consider making the resources from the previous module easier to access from this module
