Grade 4 CC/GC Cornerstone Task Lesson

Motivation
Multiple Means of Motivation
- Guide students to open the Student Facing Module that has been imported into their Tech course. Review the expectations for this module using the Overview page.
- Set the motivation for students using the Lesson Activity page in the module
- Tell students the creators of Wixie and Google need your help to review their products. They know how often students your age use their products and want to know what works well and what they can do to make their products better. Your opinion matters and can make a difference.
Learning Target:
- Students will discuss how their opinions, experiences and social media can influence the success of a product.
Lesson
Multiple Means of Representation
- Introduce the Lesson Activity to the students
- Explain that students will get in groups of 4 and that half of each team will complete the Wixie test and the other half will complete the Google Slides test.
- Review the rating scale on the Lesson Activity - Choice Board page with students and discuss how their opinion of the product must also be reflected in the number of stars they give the product.
- Display gr4_ccgc_cornerstoneProductReviewOrganizer Links to an external site. to students and explain what the opinion review must include. Pass out copies of the organizer to each team.

- Students will review the requirements for the product tests.

- Students will complete the Wixie and Google Slides product tests.
- Students will complete the gr4_ccgc_cornerstoneProductReviewOrganizer Links to an external site. based on their experiences during the test.
Learning Target:
- Students will complete the product tests and use their experiences from the product tests to complete the organizer.
Extension
- Students who finish early may start working on gr4_ccgc_cornerstoneStudentProductReviewTemplate

- Students who finish early could brainstorm other collaborative digital tools they could review and evaluate to share their opinions with others.

- Review and chart with students the best way to manage time and tips for completing the project within this class period.

- Students will make a plan to aid in completing the task during this class period.
Lesson

- Students will complete the two team slides together in the Yelpers Team Review Project presentation.

- Students will use the completed organizers and collaborative tools to complete the team project.

- Students will complete peer and self reflections related to this task.
Extension
- Students discuss each of the products including pros and cons and how the products could be improved.
- Students brainstorm additional tests that can be performed to better evaluate each product.
