Your team is on a ship in the Caribbean that is sinking.  There is a lifeboat that will fit everyone on your team. You have 10 minutes to collect 10 items from the ship.  These items will help you survive for a few days adrift in the Caribbean.
  • Students will have 10 minutes to view the list of items and select 10 items. This will be a strict timeline. If they can’t get 10 items, they get what they were able to agree on.  If they take over 10 items, the teacher can randomly take away items until they have 10 only.
  • The recorder should record the 10 items the team selected.
  • Teams will take the remaining time to agree on a platform to use.  This is a start from scratch project, no templates. They need to rely on each other to complete this project.

Learning Target:

  • Students will work as an efficient team with defined roles in order to complete the task within the time frame allotted.
