Grade 3 Digital Citizen Cornerstone Task Summary
Summary
Third grade students are presented with a scenario to spend the summer living in another country where they will take on the role of a travel brochure designer. Students will make a list of important factors and select a country to visit that meets their needs and wants from CultureGrams. Using research gathered, students will create a travel themed project; postcard, travel advertisement or travel brochure. Students will be required to show ethical use of intellectual property by paraphrasing, quoting and provided a citation as well as demonstrate an understanding for the permanence of their travel review as part of their digital footprint.

- Consider collaborating with your media specialist to ensure that students have had prior experience using Noodletools or another citation generator prior to this task.

Access Points to Consider
- Modify the organizer and project templates to meet the needs of your students. Paraphrasing is a difficult skill. Consider modeling several examples.
- Consider grouping students with a helper buddy or grouping those who need additional support closer together so you can navigate quickly to give teacher assistance.
