Essential Questions

  • What is team work?

  • How do we work together as a team?

Outcomes

  • Students will understand that their kindergarten class constitutes a team that works together.

Vocabulary

  • team
  • player
  • coach
  • leader
  • teacher

Teacher Considerations

  • If printing individual pictures for a team bulletin board, consider placing pictures into a PowerPoint template set to print small. Have students hand in pics to your Hand-In folder, or have students take pictures on only one computer for easier printing of smaller pictures. This should allow each student’s picture to be placed on a bulletin board designed as a field to create a visual concrete picture of a team.
  • Templates are not created. Suggestions for templates are provided in the assessment column below.

Create a soccer field/baseball field/football field template.  Template can be created in GAFE or Pixie or could also be a poster or bulletin board to be displayed in the classroom. Then, have students create self portraits or take pictures in Photo Booth. Place photos onto the field template so that students may concretely see that as a class, they create their own team.
