Overview

This page on the module provides a history of the Education of Blacks/African Americans of Howard County prior to school desegregation. This presentation also highlights the present-day impact of trauma on Black/African American student learning based on the historic struggle for educational equality within Howard County. This module is presented by Marcus Nicks who currently serves as the Black Student Achievement Program Liaison and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Co-Chair for Wilde Lake High School. This segment may take an hour.
