What Your Child Will Learn
Empowered Learner
- Identify parts of a computer and its peripherals: CPU, USB port, sound port.
- Drag a document to designated location.
- Select appropriate printer to print.
- Recognize and use icons to perform computer and software functions: print, save, undo, redo, bold, italic, underline, text color, highlight, fill, home button, back button.
- Turn on, restart, & shutdown computer/mobile device.
- Launch a web browser.
- Use basic navigation buttons - forward, home, refresh, stop.
- Use undo/redo tools.
- Select and edit text: font size, font type, font style, font color.
- Modify an image/object - i.e., rotate, flip, resize, change colors, patterns.
- Use tools/applications to create original images, videos, audio.
- Open and view a presentation or presentation template in slideshow mode.
- Troubleshoot headphones and problems with sound.
- Develop an understanding of appropriate keyboarding positions.
Digital Citizen
- Identify and use tools for online communication.

- Share curriculum-related (grade or content level specific) concepts with their classmates, families, and others using developmentally appropriate online curriculum-based resources (e.g., online songs, stories, artifacts, and information about their lives, communities, and cultures.).
- Use technology tools to exchange- classroom to classroom- stories, artifacts, and information about their lives, communities, and cultures (varying levels of complexity).
- Share steps for using age-appropriate technology tools to create a product; use a partner or team to solve a problem; or illustrate a song, rhyme, or story.
