OVERVIEW
During the first semester of fifth grade students will learn about how digital content is permanent and cannot be deleted. They will identify private information that should not be given to anyone online without the permission of a trusted adult. Students will also identify strategies for creating strong, secure passwords and understand its important in cybersecurity. During the second semester of fifth grade students will learn about how to identify ways to model positive behaviors online. They will learn how to protect their privacy and online reputation and the types of information that is appropriate to share online. Students will learn about cyberbullying, the roles people play in cyberbullying situations and the appropriate ways to deal with cyberbullying.
This digital citizenship assessment is intended to be used with fifth graders as benchmark data points throughout the school year to help inform instruction in the technology classroom.
