Overview

Today I will learn to navigate and identify key parts when coding with Scratch by creating a Pong Game.

STEP 1.

  Directions: Select the play button to begin Pong - Classic computer game Links to an external site.. As you view this video, think about how the game works.

  Directions:  Reflect on what you just experienced watching the game.

  Directions: Follow along with your teacher as they provide an introduction to Pong Game in Scratch for CS First.

 Think about and Discuss

What past coding experiences have you had?  How are they similar or different to the programming language used in Scratch?

 

Activity

STEP 4.

  Directions: Follow your teachers directions to navigate to your Scratch account within CS First.

  • Sign in to CS First Links to an external site..
  • Select the Blue Circle with the + sign in the upper left corner.  Select New Project.

  • Enter a title for your project at the top of the window.

File Name: Chase Game - First Name

 

  • Make sure you work together with your partner programmer if you have trouble and need help!

STEP 5.

Directions: Follow the Pong Game Links to an external site. direction cards below or use the handout provided by your teacher to create the algorithms needed to make the pong game in CS First.

 

Select the Next button at the bottom of the page to save and turn in your work digitally to your teacher.
