Ask students about safety and what would constitute a safe place to sit (use car/bus rides). Work as teams using Wixie or Google Draw to have students create a Humpty Dumpty character giving each student a role (ie - body/eyes, arms/nose, legs/mouth).

  • Students can use Wixie or Google Draw to collaborate and create a character of Humpty Dumpty allowing students to produce original work as a team. In Wixie, students will need to share a computer.  In Google Draw, students can share documents. Be sure to instruct students on the process of sharing ahead of time and allow time for adjusting to working together on one document.  Also be sure to reinforce the importance of allowing each team member to be in charge of their own piece of the project.
  • If Humpty, Dumpty charater is created in Wixie and exported into Google Draw, to be sure to export as a PNG with transparent background coloring in the body of Humpty Dumpty.

  • Students will use Humpty Dumpty character and create a safe place for Humpty Dumpty to sit.  The seat could be designed in Wixie or Google Draw, or seat could be designed and actually created using materials in the classroom (consider excess materials from Science kit).
  • Consider taking digital pictures of each step students take to build the seat.  Have students place pictures in order, label roles, make comments, etc.
  • Have students elevate or vote on which wall design would be the safest for Humpty Dumpty and why.
