DAY 1
Overview
Today I will learn how to write lines of code and debug, or fix code that has mistakes.
Motivation
STEP 1.
Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin Storybots: Four Seasons Links to an external site.. As you view this video, think about the order of the four seasons of the year.

STEP 2.
Directions: Follow along with your teacher to view the Seasons of the Year Links to an external site. slides below. Your teacher can't quite figure out what is wrong with the algorithm. The seasons seem to be in the wrong order. Can you help debug the algorithm by naming the seasons in the correct order?

STEP 3.
Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin BBC Learning - What are Computer Bugs. Links to an external site. As you view this video, think about how bugs are problems in a code that need to be fixed in order for it to work correctly.

Let's see if we can debug some nursery rhymes in groups.

STEP 5.
Directions: With your group work together to complete the Debugging Nursery Rhymes worksheet Links to an external site.. You will cut out and glue the steps of the nursery rhyme in order. Then program your Bee-Bot to go from the first step to the last step on the Nursery Rhyme mat from your teacher. Use your directional cards to plan your route.
