DAY 2

Overview

Today I will learn how to write lines of code and debug, or fix code that has mistakes.

Motivation

STEP 1.

  Directions: Let's review the four seasons that we learned about last week. Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin the Four Seasons Song Links to an external site.. As you view this video, pay attention to the order of the seasons.

Lesson

STEP 2. 

  Directions: Follow along with your teacher and review the Seasons of the Year Links to an external site. below.  Can you debug the seasons starting with Winter?  Then can you help code Bee-Bot to visit all of the seasons of the year in that order?

 

Activity

STEP 3.

Let's see if we can debug another nursery rhymes in our small groups. 

  Directions: Go to Slide 2 and select the play button to begin Hey Diddle Diddle Links to an external site.. As you view this video, think about the order of the nursery rhyme events.

STEP 4.

Directions: With your group work together to complete the Debugging Nursery Rhymes worksheet Links to an external site..  You will cut out and glue the steps of the nursery rhyme in order.  Then program your Bee-Bot to go from the first step to the last step on the Nursery Rhyme mat from your teacher. Use your directional cards to plan your route.
