Maze Game

Overview

Today I will develop and use strategies for understanding and solving problems with technology. I will use my knowledge of computer games and code to solve a problem.  I will manipulate a maze game in Scratch for CS First that is only partially finished.  I will complete the program so that the sprite is able to move around the maze while the player responds to questions.

Your Task

  Directions: Follow your teachers directions to make a copy of the Cornerstone Maze Requirements so that you can refer to them throughout the project. This will also help your teacher to keep track of your progress.

Cornerstone Maze Requirements

  • Select the Cornerstone Maze Requirements Links to an external site. to make a copy to your Google Drive.
  • When prompted select Make a Copy.
  • Make sure you rename the title of the document to include your last name.
    • delete Copy of
    • add your last name to the end
    • ex. CornerstoneMazeRequirements - Howard
  • Select Share and enter your technology teachers name to share this document with them.

  Directions: Follow along with your teacher as you read through your task requirement and the rubric.

Task Requirements:

  • Make the Cat Move
    • Add movement blocks to the arrow keys
  • Orange Obstacle
    • Replace the ASK and ANSWER in the sensing block with one of your questions.
    • Add the 2 necessary blocks (SAY & GO TO) for the ELSE code. 
  • Purple Obstacle
    • Replace the ASK and fill in the ANSWER in the sensing block with one your questions.
    • Add the IF/ELSE block. Be sure to place it correctly inside the IF loop.
    • Add and complete the =operator with the ANSWER block.
    • Add the 2 necessary blocks (SAY & GO TO) for the IF and ELSE code.
  • Mouse Obstacle
    • Complete the IF/ELSE event.

  Directions: You will begin your Cornerstone Task by writing out your trivia questions that you will code into your Maze. Follow your teachers directions and select how you will be completing your trivia questions using the links below.
