Grade 3 Creative Communicator/Global Collaborator
Lesson: Global Communication
A lesson seed collection is a menu of ideas that can be used to build a lesson. To build a lesson, select a Motivator Seed, a Lesson Seed, and a Assessment & Closure Seed. Use the Additional Activities and Resources for additional ideas, and remember to cue videos prior to instruction in order to avoid advertisements.

Reading

Writing

Teacher Considerations
- “Weebly for Education Links to an external site.” - Create a teacher account. Click on the tab, My Students, to add up to 40 students for free. If you send invitations to 5 colleagues and they accept the invite, you will get 10 additional students for each invite. Since "Weebly" is a supplemental digital tools, please provide parents and option to opt out and follow guidelines on the Supplemental Digital Tools list.

Links to an external site.” - Preparation includes setting up individual student accounts. This can be time consuming. One way to expedite this process is to create “generic accounts” called student01, student02, student03 etc. After creating accounts, students can select an account based upon the computer number. Remind them that they will be “sharing” the “Kidblog” account and they need to be respectful of others’ posts, especially since they have editing privileges for others’ posts. Motivator Seeds: Multiple Means of Engagement
Seed 1
- Discussion: How does our school communicate with your family? Lets look at some of the ways. (Show website, HCPSS news email, Friday folder flyers, telephone, email.) Why do we communicate with your family? What is the purpose? Does your teacher communicate with you differently than she communicates with your parents? Does your teacher email you? Why do we use so many different ways to inform parents? Lead the discussion into various ways that we communicate.
